Animal Welfare Apprentice
If you are looking to start a career within the science industry, consider the Animal Welfare Apprentice position.
In this position, you will help ensure the welfare of animals we work with in groundbreaking research and prepare for a Level 2 diploma in Laboratory Animal Science and Technology.

Employment contract 2 years
When to apply We accept applications for the Animal Welfare Apprentice in two rounds:
Starting in February; the position begins in September; and
Starting in September; the position begins in February.
Laboratory Technician Apprentice
We offer three types of Laboratory Technician Apprenticeships: Necropsy, Dose Formulation and BioPharm CMC.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will work alongside a team of scientists and experience a supportive environment that blends both college studies and laboratory-based projects.
As part of your hands-on training, you will learn a broad range of laboratory skills and techniques in a GLP environment. You will also receive a generous benefits and holiday package.
Once you complete the program, we offer the option to progress to a Level 5 or Level 6 degree qualification.
Employment contract 2.5 years
When to apply We accept applications for the Laboratory Technician Apprentices starting in February; the position begins in August.

Will I be paid as a Labcorp Apprentice?
Yes. As an Apprentice, you will receive a salary while gaining practical experience. An Apprenticeship is a great way to learn while you earn, without accumulating any debt from tuition fees.
How will I learn on the job as an Apprentice?
As an Apprentice, you are paid employee of Labcorp, spending about 80% of your working hours in your role. The other 20% of your workweek is dedicated to academic learning, which may include real-world projects, mentorship, time with a training provider and on-the-job training.
What qualifications or prior experience are required to apply for a Labcorp Apprenticeship?
For an Animal Welfare Apprentice, you should have completed your Level 1, as you will study for a Level 2 diploma in the program.
For a Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship, an A-level in Biology or Chemistry is preferred but not essential. Relevant work experience or a Level 3 science-based qualification is also beneficial.
What is the application deadline for a Labcorp Apprenticeship?
These roles are typically posted until filled, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Animal Welfare Apprentice applications are posted in February and August; Laboratory Technician Apprentice applications are posted in February.
Does Labcorp offer Apprenticeships outside of the U.K?
At the end of your Apprenticeship, you will undergo a competency assessment and earn a nationally recognized qualification. You will also possess the skills and knowledge needed to progress in your career or work toward the next Apprenticeship level.
