A spotlight on military spouses

As a Talent Acquisition Manager at Labcorp and a military spouse, Natalie understands the challenges of growing your career.

“Military families often have to move every few years,” she explained. “Usually, the spouse is the one who has to change jobs frequently, give up their career or face long gaps between positions.”

“Finding employment that's gainful or at the same level as what we were previously in can be a challenge, especially depending on where you're moving from or to,” she added.

Recognizing the value of military spouses

With her own experience of coordinating multiple relocations and career transitions, Natalie is passionate about advocating for military spouses. She encourages everyone to recognize how their unique skills can translate to their next roles.

“Military spouses bring a lot to the table. It’s helpful for employers to understand that military spouses often navigate multiple moves or have to solely manage households during their spouse’s deployment,” she said.

“We recognize the talents of military spouses. We want them to know that we view their contributions ‘behind the scenes’ as valuable, transferable work experience, regardless of their resume. I believe that Labcorp, as a military-friendly employer, is a great place to restart, grow or continue your career.”
